Just in case you still have concerns, we want to let you know why none of our customers has ever experienced fraudulent use of a credit card as a result of shopping with us. Our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information by converting it into tiny bits of unrecognizable and unreadable code that are safely and securely transmitted to us over the Internet. How to Place an Order

Placing an Order on the Web Site
Placing your first order with The Caledonian Kitchen is easy. We use 128-bit encryption to insure that your order is transmitted securely. Each purchase you make is protected and safe. All The Caledonian Kitchen shipping is via UPS exclusively. We no longer offer a USPS shipping option unless the shipping address is APO.

Just follow these steps to order any of our great products online:

1. Click on any item you'd like to buy. You can click on an item's picture or descriptive link. You'll be taken to that item's Product Page. On the Product Page, you'll see a detailed description of that item.

Shopping Cart2. Click "Add to Cart" to add that item to your Shopping Cart. To view the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time, click on the Cart Contents link at the top of the page. You'll see the items you've added to your Shopping Cart along with the subtotal price. If you're changing the quantity, use the Quantity box and click "Update Quantities." If you're Removing an Item, click "Delete Item." When you're ready to check out, just click "Checkout."

3. If you already have an account and have not logged in, you will need to do so now. If you have not created an account, you will have to set one up.

4. Enter your e-mail address and select the option that you're a new customer.

5. Create a password for future visits.

6. Click "Continue" and you'll be taken to the Shipping Page to enter your shipping address and to choose a shipping method.

Shipping address: Your account default address will be shown automatically. If you wish to ship the order to another address, click "Change Address." Add the new address and click "Continue."

Shipping method: We currently ship through UPS and USPS. You may choose from regular or express shipping.

7. Click "Continue" to go to the Payment Page. You'll be prompted to confirm your billing address and method of payment. You'll want to change this if your billing address is different from your shipping address. If this is the case, click "Change Address" and complete the New Address form. Then click "Continue."



8. There are several ways to pay for your order, and if you have a coupon or comment, you will be prompted to enter your information. We will verify that your discount information has been received. We accept American Express, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard. We no longer accept personal and business checks for retail orders. Sorry.

Send My Order!9. Click "Continue" and you'll be taken to the Order Confirmation Page. You'll find a summary of your order, but you will still have an opportunity to make changes from this page before you submit your order.

10. Clicking "Send My Order" is the last step.
Be sure to click this button!


Finally, we'll display a page with "Your Order Has Been Processed!" Our system will automatically send an e-mail to the address you provided with your order number and details, which you may save for your records. You may also click "Detailed Invoice," which lists the status and details of your order.

If you do not feel comfortable sending your credit card information to us over the Internet, you still can shop with us. Shop our online store then complete your purchase by phone toll-free 1-877-474-6752 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT, M-F. Please have your credit card and an e-mail address when you call.

We no longer offer direct mail order service. Feel free to contact us by phone for non Internet orders.

Is there a minimum order?back to top

No, but bear in mind that shipping is horrendous on small orders, and you might end up paying as much for shipping as you pay for the product itself. So buy more!
What is "Your Shopping Cart"?back to top

Your Shopping Cart is a helpful shopping tool that always displays the items you've added to your cart without your having to switch back and forth between screens. It's always in the upper right corner.

How do I remove items from the Shopping Cart?

Simply click on the View Details link and click "Delete Item" next to the item you wish to remove.

How long will items stay in the Shopping Cart?

Until you "Check Out" on our site, even if you leave and log back in at a later date.

After I've added items to the Shopping Cart, how do I check out?

Click "Checkout" and you'll be taken to the shopping cart. From here, click "Checkout Now" to complete your order.

Does the subtotal displayed in the Shopping Cart include shipping and taxes?

No, the subtotal includes only the cost of the items in Your Shopping Cart.

Placing an Order Outside of the US back to top

Updated March 27, 2007** Caledonian Kitchen now ships to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand!

Due to the nature of our food products we have previously been restricted by various customs policies in regard to international shipping. The US Food and Drug Administration still restricts both the import and export of beef products to and from the United Kingdom. Customers in the UK wishing to order and ship into the US may order by phone toll-free (877) 474-6752.

Our Retail Returns Policy back to top

You may return most items sold by CaledonianKitchen.com within 5 days of delivery for a full refund of the item(s). If you must return an item, we'll only pay the return shipping cost if the return is a result of our error.
Any item(s) that you deem unsatisfactory will be replaced or refunded upon your request, as long as you let us know the details of the problem within 5 business days of having received your order. A 15% restocking fee is applicable whenever the return is due to "Wrong item ordered," "Customer does not like the product," "Item no longer needed," or "Customer error." No restocking fee for items that are returned due to our shipping error or shipping damage. We reserve the right to confirm the error.

In addition, we will not issue refunds for the return of certain items, including:

  • Any item that is returned more than 5 days after delivery.
  • Any perishable food item.
  • Any book that has obvious signs of use.
  • Any food item that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap).
  • Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts.

Refund Policy
We can process returns and refunds only for retail sales items directly purchased from and fulfilled by CaledonianKitchen.com. Items that are picked up at a festivals or from sales representatives and wholesale orders are excluded.

The amount of your refund depends on several factors:

Initial shipping charges are non-refundable.
The cost of return shipping is deducted from your refund unless the return is the result of our error.
Items that meet our returns guidelines will receive a full refund.

Undeliverable Packages

Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. When the carrier returns an undeliverable package to us, we issue a full refund (including shipping charges). We are unable to re-ship orders that are returned to us as undeliverable. If you would still like to purchase items that were undeliverable, you are welcome to place a new order on our Web site.

If you suspect your order cannot be delivered as addressed and you have not received confirmation of its return or refund after 4 weeks from the estimated delivery date, please contact us using the link near the bottom of this page.


Why Was My Package Undeliverable?

Our carriers may deem a package undeliverable for one of the following reasons:

Incorrect Address. If the address is incorrect or outdated, the package is typically returned to us by the carrier or the unintended recipient. Please double-check your address carefully when placing a new order.

To remove an outdated or incorrect address from your account, click the "Your Address Book" link in Your Account. Click either the Edit button or the Delete Address button beneath the address you want to change or remove.

Shipping to a Post Office Box. We Do Not Ship to P.O. Boxes The Caledonian Kitchen ships with UPS exclusively.

Other Address Problems. In rare cases, it is also possible that the address label became illegible during the shipping and handling process.

Failed Delivery Attempts. Most of our carriers make three attempts to deliver a package. Packages that contain more than $400 of merchandise will always require a signature; otherwise, it is generally up to the driver's discretion to determine whether a signature is required. If the driver feels it is best to obtain a signature and no one is present to accept the delivery after three attempts, the package will be returned to us.

Refused by Recipient. If a gift recipient is not expecting a gift, they may refuse the package if they believe it was sent to them in error. If you still want to send these items, you may want to let the recipient know that a surprise is on the way.
