Now in New LARGE 28oz cans! Introducing our latest offering in the traditional of great Scottish pub foods. Our Tavern Stew is made from quality beef and vegetables, including Scottish turnips or "neeps" (rutabagas), simmered gently in a broth made with Scottish ale, with some nutritious oats thrown in for more body. This magical combination of flavors will provide a satisfying supper and, when enjoyed with a slice of dark bread and pint of fine Scottish ale, a bit of Scottish history too! Old Coaching Inns that once dotted the countryside of Scotland inspried this version of Scottish tavern stew. The coaching inns served as stopping-off points for the cattle drives that traveled from the Highlands of Scotland all the way down into northern England. In the days of Rob Roy, Scottish drovers, after a long hard day of driving herds, relished a stopover at an inn where they could get a hot meal and a good pint of ale. The tavern stew was a highly nutritious and flavorful dish with "stick-to-the-ribs" quality that kept the drovers coming back for more. Ingredients: Beef, potatoes, green peas, onions, baby carrots, rutabagas, water, red wine, dark beer, partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, flour, tomatoe puree, oats, worchestershire suace, salt, sugar, and spices. 28 oz can.Available in limited quantities.
